MARSH CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE MUSICIANS’ HEARING HEALTH SCHEME
Since 2016, Help Musicians UK (HMUK) has been fortunate to receive the generous support of our valued corporate partner, Marsh. We are now in the final year of the three-year partnership, which will see a total donation of £30,000 towards the Musicians’ Hearing Health Scheme.
So far, we are grateful to have received £20,000, which has been vital in delivering the Musicians’ Hearing Health Scheme. This includes the expansion of the scheme to new cities across the UK and the widening of the eligibility criteria to have a greater impact for musicians and those working in the industry. In the first year after the scheme’s launch in 2016, we received approximately 4,000 applications having only initially projected 750 applications, and demand continues to grow. You can read more about the scheme on our newly dedicated #HearForMusicians website: hearformusicians.org.uk
In the final year of our partnership with Marsh, we look forward to furthering engagement with Marsh and their employees, including invitations to HMUK events across the UK and Northern Ireland. Marsh has also kindly offered HMUK the use of office rooms for meetings and the stunning ‘Thames Space’ with views of the city, where we hope to arrange a cultivation event for HMUK supporters.
In addition, we are currently exploring ideas for allocation of the final £10,000 towards a specific project within the Hearing Health Scheme, increasing the impact of Marsh’s donation on musicians’ hearing health with a focus on prevention and reducing the risk of noise-induced hearing loss. Watch this space for announcements later this year.

We are thrilled to be supporting the charity’s Musicians’ Hearing Health Scheme and #HearForMusicians campaign, helping to educate, prevent and manage musicians' hearing loss.”
Belinda Dee, Fundraising Director at HMUK, said:
“Help Musicians UK is excited to be entering into another year of partnership with Marsh, who have so generously supported the charity to ensure that musicians and those who work in music have adequate hearing protection, and can continue to work and thrive in their careers. Our 2015 research showed that working as a musician contributed to hearing loss in 78% of respondents, and subsequently, the demand for our Musicians' Hearing Health Scheme significantly exceeded original projections. Donations from valued partners like Marsh are critical if we are to continue to support musicians, and we very much look forward to developing our relationship further by engaging with more employees and stakeholders in 2018.”
